IMPORT IN THE 1st QUARTER of 2018. RESULTS

According to the preliminary data of the customs statistics, in the first quarter of 2018 the goods import from the foreign countries has increased by 20,7% in comparison with the same period of last year.

Nevertheless:

- import of machine-building production has grown by 19,4%
- import of food products and raw materials for their production – by 9,5%
- import of chemical production – by 2,8%
- import of textile products and footwear - was reduced by 9,8%

Imports of machinery products increased the procurement of ships and floating means by 10 times, aircraft – by 1.8 times, means of ground transport – by 33.8 %, mechanical equipment – by 13.9 %, tools and devices optical – by 8.2%, electrical equipment – by 1.8 %. At the same time, importation of railway locomotives decreased by 4.2 percent.

In the group of food products and raw materials for their production imports of vegetables is increased by 38.9 %, meat and byproducts - by 18.1 %, fruit – by 16 %, dairy products – by 12.1 %.
Imports of chemical products increased due to growth in procurement of polymers and rubber by 5.7 %, cosmetic products – by 4.6 %, soap and synthetic detergents – by 4.4 %, pharmaceutical products – by 4.2 %.
Among textile products and footwear, purchase of shoes is decreased by 25.4 %, textile and clothing - by 11 %, knitwear – by 4.7 %.
