Russia has increased meat exports to Japan

Russia’s Trade Representation in Japan have announced about a 50% increase in exports of finished products from meat and fish to Japan. This result has been achieved since the start of 2016. The authorities comment that Japan is also willing to increase its supplies of meat to Russia. In particular, supplies of marbled meat.

Specialists also note, that Japan got interested in Russian pork and chicken meat because of their low production cost, as in Japan its cost is much higher due to expensive cattle food. The Trade Mission of the Russian Federation emphasizes that Russia is the second country after China from which delivery of chilled chicken meat to Japan is possible. Currently, countries are aligning the relevant veterinary health certificates.
